I want to talk a little bit about opportunity.
Since the night a couple of weeks ago where I didn’t play at 100%, I have learned so much about not missing opportunities. (Listen to Episode 6 to hear more about that night and the coaching I got.) I actually feel like when I play at 100% in life, I get an infusion of life. It might seem strange that by giving your all you would actually be inspired and recharged. But that is what I’ve been learning. Instead of being tired and drained when I bring my A-game, I feel alive!
This is the opposite of the way my mind would think.
It may be the opposite of the way MANY people think. It seems logical that if you give 100%, that you’re going to be tired. Or that you’re going to be drained because you’ve just given everything you’ve got. But what I’ve been learning is that when I don’t take my opportunities and I don’t bring my A-game in life, THAT is when I feel tired, listless, uninspired, and dull. For me, taking my opportunities is what makes me feel alive! It’s what makes me feel like living!
Without the coaching, and without having someone who can see my potential even when I can’t, I would miss so many opportunities. That’s why the coaching has been so helpful. As I have applied the lesson, and have been bringing my A-game, I am really living and experiencing life in a way that I never have before. I have never been happier, I have never felt more energy and been more inspired! God gets the credit for all of this! Because if there’s anyone that is for us it is God! If there is anyone that wants to see us succeed, it is God! And I feel like He has given me a huge opportunity to live an inspiring life. And that energy comes from him. Without the mindset of being ready for every opportunity and not missing it, I would be alive, but I wouldn’t really be living.
It’s one thing to be alive it’s another thing to really live! One of my favorite songs lately has been, "Say I Won't" by MercyMe. This line speaks to me, “I want to know what it means to live and not just be alive.” That sums up what I have been learning and living over the last month. And I am reminded of one of my favorite movies quotes, "Great moments are born from great opportunities." I don’t ever want to miss an opportunity to have a great moment! For myself, and for those around me as well!
JMak didn't miss his opportunity to give his best at a fun gathering recently - check out his dance moves in this fun Blues Brothers performance.
